I’m Helen Treharne, former author with Booktrope and now an independent writer. You may have come here from my old website www.helentreharne.com .
I write new adult fiction, urban fantasy, literary fiction and urban poetry. You can buy all my books in major online retailers in a digital format. My vampire series is also available in paperback.
My my most known offering is the Sophie Morgan Vampire Series, which one reviewer described as “Sunnydale with tea and biscuits”. It’s not set in a high school though. it starts off in the West Midlands and moves to Cardiff. The other big difference is that our socially inept vampire slayer is Welsh, a university graduate and her family history is far more dysfunctional.
Relative Strangers: A Modern Vampire Story (Sophie Morgan Vampire Series #1)
Sophie Morgan is 23 and has always done the right thing. She’s caused no stress for her family, worked hard through university, has taken a successful leap onto the career ladder and nurtured a reasonably healthy bank balance. It’s no small surprise then when, on a post relationship break-up, mini-break to Antwerp, she pursues a pair of thieves who steal her friend’s handbag. But this is only the start of her world being turned upside down. She quickly learns that vampires exist, her neighbors aren’t what they seem and new boyfriends can be found in the strangest of situations.
Death in the Family (Sophie Morgan Vampire Series #2)
This time Sophie has more than vampires to deal with. In the face of estranged family members, the continued interest in her by Charles Ferrers and the prospect of her love affair with Mickey Kelly ultimately being a doomed one, Sophie has difficult choices to make. Will she accept the supernatural world and what her role in it might be?
Hostile Relations (Sophie Morgan Vampire Series #3)
When the body of a young man is pulled from the River Taff in Cardiff, there is more than one person who suspects that a new vampire has arrived in town.
Sophie Morgan, coming to terms with a dark family secret and looking for distraction, is thrown into the seedy underbelly of Cardiff when she takes some freelance work at a shelter for the homeless. Is a vampire deliberately picking off the vulnerable, or are there more human elements at work?
Kasper Andersen, appointed as enforcer for the oldest vampire clans, is new to the area. Is the mounting body count the work of his sire, or is vampire gangmaster and nightclub owner Doyle responsible?
DI Neil Rogers would rather be solving a series of robberies as he approaches retirement but the supernatural world just wants to suck him back in.
Their worlds collide in this sinister third instalment of The Sophie Morgan Vampire Series, but who will survive and who will pay the ultimate price?
