My son has eczema and given we can’t use steroid cream all the time I’m always looking for oils, creams and products that might help his dry skin. I was delighted to have the opportunity to try Cocobelle Baby Coconut Oil, a brand developed by parents of a child with the same issue.
We have tried several coconut oils in the past two years and they’ve been hit and miss. The first was an organic oil from a well known supermarket, which was good but did get lumpy over time. The second and most recent one was a generic brand from a major supermarket, which was very waxy and greasy. I know that sounds odd, but with any oil you don’t want to feel like a chip, you just want to feel soft.
Cocobelle has definitely topped the ones we’ve tried. Firstly, it has a nice solid texture. It isn’t gritty. From being stored in room temperature, there is a film of soft oil on the top which is enough for a whole application – my three year old from top to toe anyway. Secondly, it doesn’t feel greasy on. There are apparently different grades of coconut oil, something I wasn’t aware of before. I suspect that Cocobelle Baby Oil is up there in the top end of the grade.
From red, scales on his legs, we’ve gone to smooth skin in only a few days. I’ve even tried it on my own skin and found it lovely. Unlike some oils, it feels soft and not gritty. I’m very impressed
I even tried it on my own skin, using it to remove some make up. I rubbed it all over my face, then quickly wiped if off with a cheeky wipe. My skin felt so clean and soft afterwards.
So will we keep using? Absolutely we will!
