The Sunshine Blogger Award

There’s a few blogging awards, challenges and Q&A going around at the moment and I’m delighted to be nominated for another. Thanks Lil Jem and Baby E   and The Imagine Forest Blog  for the nomination for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Thank you to both as I love their blogs! As Lil Jem nominated me first, I’m going to answer her questions, but I’m going to pay it forward with the Imagine Forest and use her questions for my nominees. What do you consider to be your biggest strength? I’m great in a crisis or when things get really busy. I…

My Weekly Wins #10

I can’t say I particularly know what went on this week. I spent most of it in a daze as Small Boy decided to wake up very early three days in a row and I was a zombie for most of it. One 2.30am start had me drinking Red Bull at my desk at 8am. That was a weird day – I was coming out with lots of ideas all morning and then hit a wall by 3pm and had to go home while I was still safe behind the wheel of a car. But even in the blurriest weeks…

Why do we expect so much from toddlers?

Why do we expect toddlers to deal with their emotions and challenges in the same way adults do? Is it fair to expect them to understand how they feel and concepts that even we as adults struggle with sometimes, like disappointment or anger? It’s easy to dismiss a “tantrum” or to get frustrated by your toddler throwing themselves on the floor because you’ve asked them to do something or you say no to them. I’ve had to go and have a few seconds in another room while I’ve calmed down on more than one occasion. I’ve likewise got annoyed with…

Self care products I love – March 2018

Dermaworks Eyebrow Serum If you’ve done the maths from my post about being an older mum you will know that I was in my teens and twenties though the nineties. In line with trends of the day I definitely overplucked to lick my thicker brows into shape. Of course now a more natural shape is de rigguer and I’ve struggled to get my brows anywhere close. But I also don’t have time to be off getting threaded or waxed! I’m not a huge fan of the heavy brow that looks a bit like Groucho Marx’s moustache but I have wanted…

The Versatile Blogger Award

I always think being versatile is a great quality. It smacks of flexibility and being open minded and able to react to change. That’s something that all parents need! After all, consider how many roles you fulfil (cook, nurse, teacher, carer…) and how quickly things can change as soon as you have a “routine” nailed. I almost spat my tea out over the routine point! But I’m not writing about parenting today, but me. Yep, another opportunity to find out more about me thanks to a nomination for The Versatile Blogger Award by Kerry at Don’t Drop the Baby In…
